A man in his nineties has died overnight in hospital and it was announced there were 216 new confirmed cases in Victoria this morning, a drop in the rate recorded the previous day.

New data has not yet been released for the Wimmera, Northern Grampians
It follows a record high of 288 new cases announced on Friday, the biggest leap by a huge margin since the pandemic began.
However there has also been a significant increase in the number of tests taking place.
As of July 11, there were 1,249 cases active in Victoria.
Of those 47 individuals are in hospital, including 12 in intensive care.
One man in his nineties died in hospital overnight.
That brings the total deaths in the state to 23.
More than a million tests have taken place so far. That total now stands at 1,095,219.
More men have been infected too, with total cases including 1,778 men and 1,576 women.
The vast majority of cases are from metropolitan Melbourne with more than 3,000 confirmed instances of COVID-19 in the city while less than 300 have been confirmed in the regions.
