The grandson of Nhill's Graeme Warner managed eight disposals in a wet and dreary affair against the Richmond Tigers.
Chad described the excitement he felt running out onto the Sydney Cricket Ground for the first time to Sydney Swans media.
"It was great to finally run out with the boys that you've been training with all week," he said.
"Even though there wasn't much of a crowd, they were still really loud and it was still such a great experience to get out on such a great deck."
Chad said the pace of the contest required the biggest adjustment.
"As soon as you let your man go a little bit, they are gone," he said. "The ball just moves so quick too. Especially Richmond, they are a great team at doing that and getting outside."
The undermanned Swans lost the contest by eight points.
The Swans' captain Josh Kennedy and star player Isaac Heeney were also injured in the contest, increasing Warner's chances of keeping his spot.
