Melbourne-based visual artist Mike Maka has been appointed to paint two building murals for the Grampians Where Art Meets Nature site.
The paintings will be created on two portable buildings located mid-way on the Ararat- Halls Gap Road for the wildlife art precinct Where Art Meets Nature (WAMA).
Mr Maka will be working closely with local flora and fauna experts within the region to develop his conceptual designs.
"The artworks will reflect the natural beauty of the Grampians in a creative way, that aligns with WAMA's mission to celebrate the relationship between art, science and nature," Mr Maka said.
"I'm excited to be working with WAMA to bring their portable buildings to life through wildlife art."

WAMA patron Glenda Lewin said they want to give the community a taste of WAMA and what the foundation stands for.
"This artwork is the perfect opportunity to communicate the interconnection between art and nature and the important roles of the environment and the community play in preserving our country's natural beauty," Mr Lewin said.
"Mike Maka is a great fit for this project. We are very pleased to have him on board and excited to see how he will transform these walls into something uniquely beautiful."
Maka will commence his artwork on the WAMA site during September and will be viewable by the public to come and see him paint the murals over this period.
