South Australian police have confirmed Cross border community members must now produce evidence to an authorised officer of a COVID-19 test before they cross.
In a statement on Wednesday, police said it was either this or evidence that a COVID-19 test has been undertaken in the preceding seven days that cross-border residents required.
This requirement has also been expanded to essential travellers of all kinds, except for those passing through South Australia on their way to another state.
As of Wednesday, no Victorian or South Australian citizen in Victoria can travel to South Australia, unless they are in a category of essential traveller, one of which is cross-border community member.

Monday: The South Australian government is tightening its restrictions on the state's border with Victoria, with a caveat on cross-border community members.
From Wednesday, a Victorian resident will only be eligible for Cross Border Community status if they reside within 40km of the South Australian border.
Furthermore, these residents may only move between Victoria and South Australia for employment or education; to provide or receive care and support; or to obtain food, fuel, supplies or medical care.
These residents must not travel more than 40km into South Australia.

This means Kaniva and Edenhope residents can still travel into South Australia; however, Goroke residents cannot.
Additionally, a South Australian Cross Border Community Member should not travel more than 40km into Victoria.
Those who do must complete 14 days quarantine upon returning to South Australia.
The South Australian Government strongly advised its residents to consider their need to travel and make new arrangements immediately.
