Rural roads have been a big topic in the Wimmera this week.
On Monday, six councils in and around the region launched a joint campaign for $50 million worth of road upgrades, specifically for smaller roads with crumbling shoulders and bumpy surfaces.
In this endeavour the councils have the support of Dimboola driver and father Daniel Mibus. He wants to see the roads upgraded having experienced personal and economic losses.
One of the councils to put its name to this push is Horsham Rural City.
On Monday night, one councillor questioned the decision by council staff not to use a $1.4 million injection from the federal government for roads and community infrastructure on any rural roads.
