VICTORIA'S cross-border commissioner has not said whether he is discussing a travel bubble with South Australia, as Wimmera residents continue to feel the effects of a hard border closure.

The Mail-Times asked Luke Wilson for the work he was doing regarding a possible travel bubble, attempts to return South Australian doctors to Nhill, and the testing requirements for Victorian residents wanting to enter South Australia.
In a statement, Mr Wilson said:
"We are aware of numerous challenges resulting from the new restrictions imposed by the South Australian Government this week, including implications for border community members, commercial transport and freight, essential workers and Victoria's coronavirus testing regime.
"I'm working closely with Minister for Regional Development Jaclyn Symes to advocate to South Australia to manage the impact on our border communities and critical industries."
Mr Wilson said no permit or approval was required to enter Victoria from another state - however people need to adhere to the restrictions and directions that are in place to slow the spread of coronavirus in Victoria.

Residents in cross-border communities are considered an 'essential travellers' and can enter South Australia for work, education, care, or food and supplies but must not travel further than 40km into South Australia from the Victorian border.
Cross-border community members are defined by South Australia as a person "ordinarily residing in Victoria within 40 km of a South Australian border".
