The state recorded 322 new cases today - the lowest daily increase in 12 days.
Sadly, however, 19 Victorians lost their lives to COVID-19: one man in his 50s, one woman in her 60s, two men in their 70s, one man and six women in their 80s, and one man and seven women in their 90s.
Fourteen of the new deaths are linked to aged care outbreaks. The death toll now sits at 228.
640 Victorians are in hospital battling coronavirus. 47 people are in intensive care and 31 of them are on ventilators.
1765 active cases are linked to aged care and 1065 of the active cases are healthcare workers.
There have been 105 new "mystery cases", where the source of infection is not known. There are now 2863 cases of this nature.
Premier Daniel Andrews stressed the importance of what was at stake, as he spoke of the potential long-term health impacts of COVID-19.
"Think about the person who is most important to you. Think about them with a tube to help them breathe, in intensive care for 32 days. That's how serious this is. It is a matter of life and death," he said.

EARLIER: There's some good news from today's announcement, but sadly it is tinged with tragedy, as Victoria recorded its deadliest day of the COVID-19 pandemic so far.
Nineteen people lost their lives to coronavirus in the past 24 hours - marking the deadliest day of the pandemic yet, after 17 deaths were reported yesterday.
There were 322 new cases reported overnight, which is the lowest number of cases in a week.
Yesterday, there were 394 new cases reported.
The government released the daily COVID-19 figures via Twitter this morning, the first time it has been officially released ahead of Premier Daniel Andrews' media conference.
No time has been given for the media conference yet, where Mr Andrews is expected to shed more light on the battle the state finds itself in.
