Included in the deaths are three women and two men in their 80s, and four women and four men in their 90s.

Twelve of those 14 deaths are linked to aged care outbreaks - taking the total death toll to 289.

As reported earlier, there have been 372 new cases of coronavirus confirmed today.

Premier Daniel Andrews announced 492 active cases are in regional Victoria. There are now 7842 active cases statewide.

There are 659 Victorians in hospital, 41 of those who are in intensive care, including 26 on a ventilator.

There are 51 new "mystery cases" in today's figures - which brings the total to 3,119 cases where the source of infection is not known.

Chief Health Officer Brett Sutton said around 13 per cent of regional Victoria cases were "mystery cases."

Premier Daniel Andrews spoke to regional media this morning, where he didn't rule out imposing tougher restrictions to combat growing outbreaks in Ballarat, Bendigo and Geelong.
