This was great news, especially for those who work, go to school or access medical treatment over the border.
However, I know these restrictions are still causing anxiety and angst for many people in the community, so please continue to look out for each other.
As we move closer to September 13, when stage 3 restrictions are set to expire, I want to remind people not to be complacent.
It is still important to follow the rules and do the right thing.

Even as restrictions are eased, please only travel if it is absolutely necessary and try to limit the number of people you come into contact with.
We all still need to work together to slow the spread and we don't want to be back under more restrictions in a few months' time
We are coming into spring, meaning warmer weather is on the way. If you do go outside and enjoy the sunshine, please do so safely.
West Wimmera Shire Council staff have a number of programs in place at the moment to try to keep people socially connected.
This week the kindergarten children made special gifts to brighten the day of those stuck at home. These were distributed to residents by our Community Support Workers.

There is also a West Wimmera Shire poetry competition and a kid's art competition happening at the moment, for anyone who wants to get creative.
