But on just her second hole of the day, O'Connor achieved what every golfer dreams off - canning a six-iron from 128 metres on the par-three 11th.
Standing on the tee, O'Connor said she wasn't feeling particularly confident.
"I'm usually a shocker at pulling the ball left into the bunker," she joked.
"But I hit it really sweet. As we were watching it, one of the girls said, 'Great shot', so we were all sort of watching with anticipation.
"It rolled up and all of a sudden it disappeared in the hole.
"I said, 'I'm not going to count on it until we get there', because there's a dip in the green so you can't really see the hole.
"It looked like it had rolled in, but I thought, you can't be too sure. I didn't want to get too excited.
"But once we got up there and we saw it in the hole, that's when we all started carrying on. It was a pretty nice moment."

The competition on the day was stableford, and O'Connor, who plays off 24, received a remarkable five points for her effort.
She said the hole in one put an extra spring in her step for the remainder of the round.
"I felt like it just wasn't believable all the way around. Like, did I really do that?" she said.
"I really didn't think I would ever get a hole in one. It didn't seem real."
O'Connor said the outpour of congratulations she had received since made the accomplishment even more special.
"It's been the best buzz," she said.
"I've been getting calls and texts from people all over. People I had played with in Stawell, Kaniva, all over the place just giving me congrats.
"That's probably been the nicest thing about it."
It was the second hole in one of September at the Horsham Golf Club, after Hugh Delahunty secured a hole in one on the par 3 8th at the start of the month.
The duo will now split the prize for the hole in one jackpot at the club - unless somebody else joins their ranks.
