"Investigations pointed to an electrical fault," he said
A CFA spokesman said the scene was declared under control at 7.39pm, and a stop was put on the incident at 9:42pm.
Monday 7pm: Emergency Services are currently working to put out a building fire on Olympic Street in Horsham.
Five Country Fire Authority units from Horsham and Vectis are attending a house fire at the northern end of the residential street.

The incident was reported at 6.41pm.
Smoke is travelling over Bennett Road; onlookers are warned to stay clear of the incident as it is not yet under control.
Trucks are blocking the northern entrance of Olympic Street.
A CFA media spokesperson said there were no injuries reported, and everyone inside at the time the fire started had been accounted for.
A neighbour said she first found out about the blaze when fire trucks arrived on the scene.
"It's a terrible situation; I feel terrible for them," she said.
