It comes as Parks Victoria prepares to host an online information session on new cultural heritage discoveries at Mount Arapiles.
State leader Peter Walsh was in Natimuk with Member for Lowan Emma Kealy on Friday, discussing with climbers and residents their concerns around access to the Grampians and Arapiles.
"The climbing community would very much like to work through a process where cultural heritage sites identified can be protected but in other areas there can be climbing. I think that outcome is evidently sensible," he said.

"What I would like to see, and we will press for this, is for the government to facilitate the opportunity for the two groups to come together and work out a sensible outcome."
Mr Walsh said he would write to Aboriginal Affairs Minister Gabrielle Williams.
Parks Victoria is set to reveal more about the results of recent cultural heritage surveys at the end of this month.
It had initially planned to host workshops, but will instead host two online webinars due to the number of people wanting to attend.
These will take place on Tuesday the 27th and Wednesday the 28th of October between 5.30pm and 7pm.
Anyone wanting to attend can register their interest at EventBrite.
