"Team Ainsworth" stable runners finished one-two in a mobile start event for trotters at Terang last week, when Namoscar (Ashley Ainsworth) scored in track record time from My Darling Beware (Jason Ainsworth)
The 5yo gelding overcame its extreme outside second row draw to be one-one at the bell and raced away over the final stages to score by 13 metres in a rate of 2:01.1 for the 2180 metre journey.
Stablemate My Darling Beware boxed on bravely for second , though no match for the winner which took his record to 4 wins and 7 minors from 24 starts for owner Katrina Ainsworth,
Dunnstown trainer/driver David Murphy is enjoying a great run of success with his team and 5yo gelding Metro Man kept up the momentum for 'the shamrock" with an all the way victory last Wednesday night at Terang.
MAKING NEWS ACROSS THE WIMMERA:
Murphy made use of Metro Man's customary speed out of the gate and quickly crossed to the pegs to dictate the tempo of the 1680 metre contest.
After a moderate first half in 62.3 seconds Murphy upped the and a 28.3 quarter took the sting out of his rivals and allowed Metro Man to cruise up the home straight to the wire, seven metres clear of Asharah (Ashley Ainsworth) and Seeking Thoughts (Tim McLean).
It was Metro Man's fifth career victory for his Minyip owner Gary Loats.
