SIX new train stations have been revealed for a major Victorian railway project, slated to make regional V/Line travel to Melbourne easier in the long term.
The Suburban Rail Loop will circle through Melbourne's suburbs, creating several new stations including a new V/Line interchange at Sunshine.
Bendigo East MP and then Public Transport Minister Jacinta Allan said in 2018 the loop would make V/Line travel from regional Victoria into Melbourne easier, by creating a new interchange at Sunshine.
Construction on the rail loop is set to begin in 2022, starting with the leg running through Melbourne's eastern suburbs.
The proposed stations include Box Hill, Glen Waverley and Monash and Deakin Universities.
