Graduates of the Wimmera Development Association's leadership program toasted a successful program year as they gathered on Friday and Saturday night last week.
Leadership Wimmera, auspiced by Wimmera Development Association, enabled 28 people from 19 organisations to develop skills to contribute effectively and positively in workplaces and the community.
Leadership Wimmera program manager Jessica Grimble said the weekend's dinners were the first opportunity for participants to meet in-person since the program began in February.
"Our 2020 participants have spent more of their year-long program online and it wouldn't have been the year they expected, but one that likely brought many opportunities to learn and grow that were totally unexpected," Ms Grimble said.
"Completing the program during the pandemic undoubtedly posed challenges for everyone, but it also offered people a support network and a chance to learn new ways to navigate the challenges that came their way."
The Victorian government is the major financial contributor to Leadership Wimmera.
Philanthropic and business support also assists in delivering subsided learning opportunities to Wimmera residents.
Expressions of interest for Leadership Wimmera's 2021 program are now open.
