Waiting for eased restrictions and the Victorian-South Australian border to reopen to take advantage of through traffic in the town, Rosemary Nolan opens her shop, Emporium Rose, on Fridays for people to come and take a look.
"The intention is that I will open on weekends as well," Mrs Nolan said.
"I've always dabbled with a bit of selling online.
"The property has a great front to it. It's got two huge windows and doors in the middle.
"This is something I've always wanted to do."
OTHER NEWS:
The shop is different from the business that was historically located at the premises.
"For years, a lady by the name Jo Brooksby ran the store, The Emporium, which stocked a bit of everything," Mrs Nolan said.
"Mum used to buy all my clothes there. It had a bit of everything.
"We have a bit of everything now, but we also focus on antiques and collectibles.
"I kept the name Emporium in the name of the new store as a tribute to the previous business."
Visitors can experience a taste of Mrs Nolan's love of millinery and hats in the shop along with a range of other items.
"We've got furniture, homewares, vintage clothing and accessories, garden wear, books, toys - really a bit of everything," she said.
MORE NEWS:
"I want to share my love of everything old and whimsical.
"I collect vintage hats and have done a millinery course."
Mrs Nolan said she had priced items with the outlook of turning stock over quickly.
"Every month I will be going somewhere to restock the shop," she said.
"I am waiting on tradesmen to do a bit of work at the shop, such as a builder for repairs, electrician for air conditioning and a sign writer.
"Everything has being held up because of COVID but hopefully we get back on track soon."
Rose Emporium is located at 50 Wallace Street, Apsley.
