Police were called to the Fairfield address around midday on Monday following concerns for the woman's welfare.
The woman, believed to be a victim of domestic violence, suffered multiple injuries and died at the scene.
A 60-year-old man who knew the woman was arrested at the home and taken to Fairfield Police Station.
He has not yet been charged.
The woman is yet to be formally identified, but police believe she was in her 40s. A post-mortem to determine her cause of death will be conducted.
