Watchem West grass fire, December 12, 2020

The fire at Watchem West has been reclassified as a haystack fire.

Authorities said the fires are not likely to spread into grassland but could generate a lot of smoke.

The advice warning has been removed for the communities of Warmur and Watchem West.

EARLIER: A GRASS fire in Watchem West was burning and not yet under control at 4.55pm on Saturday afternoon.

10 vehicles had responded to the fire north-east of Warracknabeal.

Victoria Emergency issued an advice for the communities of Warmur and Watchem West.

"There is currently no threat to you, but you should stay informed and monitor conditions," the warning stated.
