The $10 Jumbo Crossword scratchie was purchased at Warracknabeal Newsagency.
The couple said the win came as a shock to them as they found out their prize was worth ten times more than they originally thought.
"So we went to the news agency to check it and the lady there had this huge smile on her face and she said it was more than $4000, but she couldn't confirm exactly how much it was," the winning woman said.

"When we went home, we checked again and we realised we had more words than we initially thought. So then we thought that we won $15,000."
"My husband checked it about twenty times again to be sure and then looked at me and said, 'Guess what we have one more word'."
The couple said they plan to use the money to travel around Australia in their caravan.
Warracknabeal Newsagency owner Sajive Manjuparambil said he was happy for the winning couple.
"We are very excited," Mr Manjuparambil said.
"It's been a while since we sold a major prize, so we couldn't be happier."
"It was an incredible moment, and we hope they really enjoy their prize."
