The Horsham Demon export was voted into the eight-man leadership group by his peers after a 2020 that saw him step up in the absence of senior players and weather the difficulties of a compromised season.
The 27-year-old said he appreciated the support of his teammates.
"You want to be trusted by your teammates when you run out each and every week," Lloyd said.

"So if they're voting me in as part of the leadership group, they obviously trust me when I run out next to them, which is important."
Lloyd displayed his trademark consistency in 2020, playing in all 17 games and topping the Swans' stats sheet with an average of 25.8 disposals per game, 4.8 marks and 5.7 rebound 50s.
The feat saw the defender claim his second Bob Skilton Medal as the club's champion player.
With 154 AFL games under his belt, Lloyd said he wanted to use his experience to drive the standards for his younger teammates.
"(Dane Rampe) left the hub halfway through last year, so it left a bit of a void in our back six, and someone had to step up," he said.
MAKING NEWS:
"Harry Cunningham and I took that opportunity, and I'm just excited with the young group we've got this year.
"They can help us develop as quickly as we can and get back to finals footy."
Josh Kennedy, Luke Parker and Dane Rampe will again serve as co-captains for the 2021 season. Callum Mills and Lance Franklin remain in the leadership group, while Lloyd is joined by fellow new additions Tom Papley and Harry Cunningham.
