The event attracted people not only from Horsham and surrounding areas but also across the state.
Many families and friends will regularly fish together at the competition every year.
There were many people posted along the Wimmera River in Horsham both as a day trip and camping.
IN OTHER NEWS:
Some people did say there were a lot less people at the fishing event than last year.
The weather was fortunate, with beautiful, sunny days in the high 20s.
Though the clear skies and mild days helped reduce sunburn, the weather didn't help with catching many fish.
Despite people coming out to fish as early as 4.30 in the morning, many people said they had not caught a single fish.
There is always next year.
