West Wimmera Health Service has announced more details about its vaccination program, with preparations in place to deliver the vaccine to priority individuals.

The health service will work with Ballarat Health Service's vaccine team to provide mobile clinics to deliver the vaccine.
Residential aged care and disability care residents and workers will be the first to get the jab as part of the first phase of the rollout.
West Wimmera Health Service's Infection Control lead Christine Duffy said the vaccine rollout was due to commence soon, although no dates have been locked in.

"This is a significant step in the fight against COVID-19. Delivering the vaccine to our aged care residents and frontline staff is crucial to helping protect our people," he said.
"The first phase of our vaccination program will take place in clinics at each of our residential aged care facilities when the vaccine is received. We hope that this will be in the coming weeks and will keep people informed once dates are confirmed."
Once the first dose of the vaccine has been administered, a follow-up immunisation will be delivered three weeks later.
