We like those special spiced fruit buns five different ways at our place.
I'm an old-fashioned oven-grilled kind of gal, halving my bun and grilling the outside first, then flipping it to grill the inside just until it's toasty brown.
I have to watch and save it before it burns then quickly lather it in thick salty butter until it melts.
My husband Kym is a modern microwave man. He blasts his bun for ten seconds then juggles it from hand to hand before hoeing into it.

Our university student has a soft spot for the choc chip version of the Easter bread bun, which will make too much mess when melted in the traditional toaster but can cope quite well with a quick zap in the microwave.
We definitely didn't eat meat on Good Friday, almost exclusively ate chocolate on Resurrection Sunday and we've been enjoying Hot Cross Buns cunningly since Christmas. Whoops!
