"Busy, very busy," were the words of Warracknabeal Caravan Park manager Andrew Richards.

Mr Richards said a lot of people starting coming in on Thursday afternoon.

"We had couples, families, and singles. We have 41 caravans and about 7 or 8 tents," Mr Richards said.

"We were at full capacity. It was great."

He said most people booked in early 2021.

"We had some people book late last year, majority booked early this year," Mr Richards said.

"We couldn't get some people in, but that's just the way it went.

"I wasn't expecting it to be that full."

Mr Richards said everyone was in high spirits.

"Nature put on a great show for us," he said in regards to the beautiful and summery weather the region had over the Easter weekend.

Warrackanbeal was busy with the races and market on Saturday, an Easter convention, and a golf tournament.

"Saturday was astronomically busy," Mr Richards said.

Mr Richards said the general feel was really great among everyone.

"People said to me it was such a great time to be there," Mr Richards said.

"Everyone respected each other's space and had some peace and quiet.

Warracknabeal businesses and community "got something back."

The Creekside Hotel owner, Sally Gebert, was so pleased with how busy the restaurant was over the Easter holiday.

"It was good. There were lots of people around," Ms Gebert said.

"People came for the races; they did the silo art trail.

"The beautiful weather helped people want to be out and about."

Ms Gebert said having the return to some normalcy was a highlight.

"Having people really enjoying themselves in a safe environment made it feel like what pubs used to feel like," Ms Gebert said.

The Creekside was open on Saturday and Sunday and had a complement of staff to keep up with the rush.

"There were a lot of tourists around," Ms Gebert said.

"What COVID-19 has done has made Victorians appreciate what we have in their own state."

Ms Gebert said people were just having fun.

"People were happy to be out and we were happy serving them," Ms Gebert said.

"People said it was great to be out and to be move about freely without masks."
