WACK stands for Wimmera Against Cancer in Kids and for two decades this organisation has been pouring funds towards families who are fighting cancer.
2021 was meant to be the 20th Horsham Car show, which is WACK's big fundraising event but had to be cancelled due to COVID-19 restrictions.
One of WACK's trustee board members Brendan Mckinnon said WACK is a namesake anyone in the community can use to raise funds.
IN OTHER NEWS:
"We're all in it together," he said.
"WACK is everyone because everyone helps and everyone puts in. There is a great band of supporters too numerous to mention."
Currently, there are no plans to organise a fundraiser later this year but Mr McKinnon said to keep an eye out.
"We had a little mini show and shine at the Wimmera riverfront," he said.
"We raised $700."
But Mr McKinnon said because anyone can use WACK, there is still fundraising happens around town.
"There are little fundraisers going all the time. Lots of people do lots of amazing things for us," he said.
Funds go towards petrol vouchers or bills.
WACK have also donated funds to Ronald McDonalds house for many years, receiving many letters of thanks over the years.
"We've paid for accommodation when people can't get into Ronald McDonald house. We've paid council rates just to help people. We've paid for car repairs," Mr McKinnon said.
Funds will also go the Ronald McDonald House in South Australia because some people in the area may have to go to SA instead of Melbourne.
WACK make sure all bases are covered.
"Last year we had to cancel our car and bike show which was going to be our 20th but we'll be back bigger and better," Mr McKinnon said.
"The boys and girls are really keen to make it even bigger and better next year. We'll put a big effort into next year.
"We'll make sure it's as good as it had been if not better than it has been in the past."
Mr McKinnon said he hopes to run a Pig on A Stick Day again this year.
"They have been really successful in the past," he said.
"Bull and Mouth help out a lot. Last time we raised about $5000."
