The grant is part of the Victorian Government's Community Motorsport Program and is going towards a circuit upgrade for the club's course.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions the club had no income in 2020, as they weren't able to hold their annual race meeting of the Victorian Country Series which normally attracts 1000 people to town, according to Luciani.
"$153,000 this year will increase our track capacity, which means we can have more drivers on the track at one time and It'll make us more eligible for more major events in the future," Luciani said.
"It's vital to a small community like Wimmera Kart Racing Club, to be able to do an extension of that magnitude, a $200, 000 extension and we had to tip in 20%, which is $40,000.

"It couldn't be possible without the support of the Sport and Recreation Victoria's Community Motorsport Program."
While other pursuits may have suffered participation-wise after such a long layoff, Luciani said the sport of Kart racing is looking good.
"With the restriction of travel overseas and interstate travelling there's been more participation at the Wimmera Kart racing club and other clubs for that matter," he said.
"We were just at Warnambool on the weekend (now two weekends ago), which was the Victorian Country Series and we had in excess of 200 drivers turn up for the weekend, so It's looking very good.
MORE NEWS:
"Our race meeting is July the 17th/18th, here in Horsham, so It'll be round four of the Victorian Country Series, so we expect to have similar numbers, obviously no work will be done prior to that event, there's obviously not enough time.
"The Go Karts have definitely got a boost and injection out of this COVID, the take-up has been massive."
