WIMMERA Music Eisteddfod (WME) is back after being cancelled in 2020 due to COVID-19, with registrations open to get involved.

WME committee member Venetia Elbourne-Hobbs said the committee was excited to implement some changes they developed in 2019.
"A new committee came in in 2019," she said.
"We have completely revamped the piano section, they are more prizes this year.

"We have special competitions, and there are more sections to be involved in.
"It's expanding all the time with the aim of having a bigger variety of people involved."
Ms Elbourne-Hobbs said some people may be put off by the idea of an eisteddfod but the WME committee is determined to be a really welcoming environment.
"They can seem a little bit starchy from the outside," she said.
"We are trying to create an eisteddfod that is really welcoming, really encouraging."
The committee wants to welcome the community to come and enjoy watching this year's performances.
"We want to make it great for audiences to come along to," she said.
"We've made some fantastic evening program sections that were phenomenal in the 2019 eisteddfod.
"They were really well attended with really high standards especially in the vocals and family section."

Ms Elbourne-Hobbs said the community was eager to get involved again with schools already signed up to be a part of the WME.
"Entries are open and there are a variety of sections you can be involved in," she said.
"There are numerous sections including a new monologue section for drama.
"There is something for all ages.
"It doesn't matter how young or old you are, you can compete.
"It doesn't matter what skill level you are, there is something you can compete in."
The 2021 adjudicator will be Dr Ian Nesbit who is a one of Australia's leading Broadway musical theatre vocal coaches.
"He will have some really fantastic tips for musical theatre interested in that field," Ms Elbourne-Hobbs said.

The Wimmera Musical Eisteddfod will be held at Horsham's Church of Christ July 22 to July 24.
