Truck rolls over on Horsham-Noradjuha Road
Emergency crews are on the scene after a truck has rolled over on the Horsham-Noradjuha road, about 15km south-west of Horsham. A spokesperson from Agriculture Victoria staff provided an update on the status of the livestock affected by this morning's truck accident. "The incident involved approximately 600 sheep," they said.

EMERGENCY crews were called to a car crash at the Dimboola Road and O'Connor Street intersection in Horsham at about 12.45pm on Monday, May 17. Paramedics treated one person who was taken by road to Wimmera Base Hospital.

The busy Stawell Road junction is set to undergo a massive overhaul with announcements for a new roundabout to be constructed near Hamilton and Golf Links roads. The Federal government will put $4 million towards upgrading the intersection, which has been called one of the most dangerous intersections in Horsham. "It's an accident waiting to happen," Horsham Rural City mayor Robyn Gulline said.

A DEDICATED website focusing on some of the state's oldest cold case murder cases was launched this week by Victoria Police, with the hope the community can provide fresh information. The 30-year-old double murder of Fiona Burns and John Lee is one of five cases highlighted on the purpose-built hub that will hopefully bring increased public attention to some of the more than 200 unsolved deaths currently sitting within the Homicide Squad's files.
Wimmera sees COVID-19 testing spike as Victorian cluster grows
WIMMERA Health Care Group has reported a spike in the number of COVID-19 tests conducted at their testing clinic in Horsham. On Tuesday, May 25, 35 people received a COVID-19 test and 50 on Wednesday, jumping from 11 in total on the weekend. Wimmera Health Care Group's acting director of medical services Dr Rob Pegram said the surge was due to an increased number of asymptomatic people seeking a test.

The IBAC investigation found weaknesses in the agency's systems was exploited for financial benefit and the benefit of close associates. Among other findings, the IBAC report found the organisation had a culture which discouraged employees from speaking up.

A look back at Horsham United's 1996 premiership
Just shy of 25-years has passed since a team of Horsham United netballers defied the odds and took home a second consecutive Wimmera Netball premiership. The year was 1996 and a United team of Julie Burke (playing coach), Pauline Butler, Jodi Bigmore, Karen Bird, Marcelle Perry, Vivian Hiscock, Penelope Stuart and Lisa Wright were taking on a strong side from Ararat at Dimboola Indoor Stadium. The side prevailed 52-42 in a physical contest and were crowned champions for the second year in a row.
