The league had initially hoped to play the postponed round seven games over the weekend, if COVID-19 restrictions were relaxed in time.
HDFNL chairman Fred Mellington cited restricted patron numbers as the main reason games weren't going ahead.
"As we are still in the grip of complete uncertainty, we have decided in the interests of fairness to all regarding catering, rostering and possible long weekend commitments to abandon trying to play this weekend," he said.
"The overriding reason for this decision is we absolutely don't believe crowd numbers allowed will be sufficient to justify playing.

"We can now concentrate on our meeting this Wednesday without the stress of this weekend and hopefully have updated information to allow us to continue planning for the rest of season 2021.
"Obviously we still have plenty of hurdles in front of us, but with a unified approach and willingness from all to adapt and work together, we shall endeavour to make the most of what's ahead."
The Victorian government is set to make further announcements to restrictions during the week - however travel from Melbourne to regional Victoria is tipped to still be off limits.
