An announcement was made on June 4 via the Raceway's Facebook page stating that it was "clear" the organisation had to cancel the event due to the current COVID-19 situation in Victoria.
A frustrated Blue Ribbon Raceway secretary Stephen Carman told the Mail-Times that they had received 104 nominations before submissions were closed.

Carman wanted to thank competitors, supporters, volunteers and sponsors for the season.
The long weekend meet was the raceways last meet of the season and is usually one of their more significant events.
"This weekend normally makes us a fair bit of money, to do upgrades and get us through the offseason and that but yeah it's been cut short so, not a lot we can do about it," Carman said.
According to Carman, the next season is due to start in November.
