WORKS have been completed on the Jeparit Library and Customer Service Centre, with the new space allowing the community longer access to library services.
The library will now be considerably more accessible for everyone with the works including a new entry that has been added to the south side of the hall, with all-abilities pathways, ramps and automatic doors.
The library space has replaced a mobile library service which visited the centre for two hours a fortnight.
The refurbished library space has retained its heritage listed exterior, with improvements to both ends of the inside hall.
Computer terminals and a kitchenette were also added to the space as part of the renovation.
The library space will be a multipurpose space shared with the local senior citizens group and the billiards club.
Funding for the refurbishments was provided by the Victorian government's Living Libraries infrastructure program, alongside a contribution from Hindmarsh Shire Council.
The Jeparit Library and Customer Service Centre will be open from 9am to 12pm and 1pm to 5pm on Monday, and 9am to 12pm on Wednesday.
