The Saints will look to build on their win over the Giants when they host ladder leaders, the Stawell Warriors.
Saints coach David Johns said it was just a matter of consistency.
"They're a young side, so our goal is to develop the consistency of knowing what level of football they need to bring to be competitive, but also to get a win on the board," Johns said.
Johns said he was really pleased with his side's win over the Giants last week, especially the way the Saints stood up in the final quarter, when they were playing a man down due to a late send off.

"The boys stood up really well. It was just a really good intense last quarter from both sides and great for us to have some wins in clutch moments where previously against Ararat and Dimboola we might have lost those moments," Johns said.
The Saints are keen for another big challenge when they host Stawell, Johns said.
"It's going to be a good challenge for us. Obviously Tommy Eckles is up and going, Jackson Dark is playing some really good footy across the half back and Cody Driscoll is up and about across that forward line," he said.
"They've got three really good footballers playing good footballs so we'll have to identify them and try to stop their influence on the game,"
A win against Stawell will go a long way to achieving the Saints goal of being "competitive at the top in the letter, instead of just being a side that's competitive in the middle," Johns said.

Meanwhile, Dimboola have the chance to bounce back from their loss to the Burras last week when they take on the inconsistent Demons at City Oval.
Also looking to bounce back will be the Southern Mallee Giants, as the Rats make the trek up to Beulah for what shapes to be a season defining clash.
Finally, the Tigers head to Minyip on a quest to pull off the biggest upset of the season so far - uprooting the reigning premiers at home.
In the netball, the Roos head to City Oval for a huge challenge in a confident Demons side, with both sides emerging victorious in clutch wins.
OTHER NEWS:
Dimboola captain, Olivia Jorgensen said the team was looking forward to the marquee clash.
"It's really exciting. The position we're in, we haven't been in for the past five years," Jorgensen said.
"I think it was good having a close game (at Murtoa), because it's really prepared us for a bit of competition," she said.
The winner of the match will cement their spot in the top four, while the Giants, already comfortable atop the ladder, will look to extend their lead over the competition when they host the Rats, who will be well rested after a bye last week.
Reigning-premiers Minyip will look to build on a competitive performance last week against DImboola as they continue their quest for their first win of the season against the also winless Tigers.
