Melbourne-based Ace Infrastructure Group has been given the contract, which would see the bridge extended to become two-lanes.
Works are expected to commence in September 2021 and be completed in mid-2022.
This announcement comes after Hindmarsh Shire Council successfully acquired state and federal funding for the project.

Hindmarsh mayor Ron Ismay said the upgrades would improve safety in the area surrounding the bridge.
"I'm extremely pleased that we will now be able to complete the new dual lane Albacutya Bridge. This will enable a further upgrade in the safety of a key road in the Shire," he said.
"The funding will enable a new dual lane bridge to be constructed in replacement of the old single lane bridge, as well as upgrades to the roads approaching the bridge.
"This will enable easier access for local farmers and tourists as the gravel bypass through the Outlet Creek bed will no longer need to be used."
