The best Under 15 players from the state's west visited Ararat's Alexandra Oval on Wednesday, June 30, to vie for a spot in the Greater Western Victoria Rebels V-Line Cup.

Selectors watched on as Wimmera faced South West, and Hampden played Goldfields in the Boys category before WVFFL and Goldfields competed in the Girls category.
The V-Line Cup Carnival is an Under 15's representative event held in Shepparton in September.
From the players who competed on Wednesday, Greater Western Victoria Rebels will select 48 boys and 24 to represent the side at the club.

Wimmera Football Netball League President Jason Muldoon said the players in the Wimmera team would benefit from being involved in the tryout process.
"It's a great opportunity for them to get some extra coaching," he said.
"We're really lucky that we've got Shane Breuer on board, as well as Ben Lakin and Andrew Devereaux, both senior players from within the Wimmera Football Netball League.

"So it's great for these kids to have a couple of training sessions with these guys and to be able to learn off these guys.
"Then when they get to the games, the skill-level and pace of it probably goes up from their local competition, so it's just great to expose them to a different type of football."
The teams will compete at Alexandra Oval again on Wednesday, July 7.
