It's just another spanner in the works for this years cohort of Year 12 students.
Horsham College captain Bella Panozzo said she and her fellow students were feeling impatient about the GAT being postponed again.
"Everyone expected it to be postponed," Ms Panozzo said.
"It's definitely still a weight on our shoulders. Everyone wants to get it done so we can focus on exams."
IN OTHER NEWS:
The decision came on Tuesday, August 10 due to the ongoing community transmission still occurring in metropolitan Melbourne.
The GAT was meant to go ahead on August 12, having being postponed from the July 29 date.
Ms Panozzo said sitting the GAT seemed "daunting" but there wasn't much preparation required.
Year 12 students will finish up school content before focusing on exam preparation.
"We want to get the GAT done and focus on other things," Ms Panozzo said.
"It's just sitting in the back of the mind."
At this stage, a new date for the GAT had not be determined but will be announced soon.
Ms Panozzo said the support of teachers was paramount in getting through this year.
"The teachers have been very helpful; we've all been trying to get each other through this year," she said.
The Victorian Minister for Education James Merlino said the Department of Education and Training and the Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority (VCAA) would support schools in the coming weeks to make appropriate COVIDSafe plans to hold the GAT.
"Victorian students have done an amazing job adapting to another year of disruptions - but we can't risk another outbreak in a school, so we're rescheduling the GAT to keep every school community across Victoria safe," he said.
"Whether it's special consideration for every student in Year 12, or extra mental health and tutoring support in schools, we want any student who is struggling to know that we're here to support them all the way."
