Despite every scenario and every challenge that has come his and his team's way this season, including a cancelled game in Ballarat, the former Horsham Demons player's first thoughts were for those of us at home.
Before his interview this week with ACM even started, he asked to know how things were going at home? Will football finals go ahead? How's everyone going?
It's that care for others that has become the mark of the man that has seen the Horsham product become a two-time Sydney best and fairest winner, and let's be honest, fantasy football gold!
MORE NEWS:
This weekend, Lloyd is set to line up in his 13th career final when the Swans travel to Launceston to play arch-rivals GWS Giants.
"It's been another crazy year, but given what we went through last year, it has been a little easier," he said.
"Surprisingly it hasn't been too bad, the difference for this year is we've been in with a sniff to play finals footy.
"We're playing pretty good football at the moment. Last year obviously finishing 16th and being away from our families was difficult at times.
"But we're really embracing this opportunity, it's a unique experience and it was great to get the families down here two to three weeks ago, it brought some life back into the group."
For his part, Lloyd's partner remains in Sydney with the 28-year-old joking he's set for a number of chores around the house when he gets home. It was a similar situation last year with his partner remaining at home when the Swans were based in Queensland.
Despite being based in Victoria this time, he is still to have a chance to catch-up with family in Horsham.
"It's been pretty tough in that respect," he said. "Early on, family were able to come to a few more games than normal, but the last few weeks, obviously nothing.
"Dad's in Horsham and I don't think he's hardly ever missed a match, so I can imagine that's been pretty hard."
For the Swans, fortunately their cross town rivals and opponents this week have pretty much lived exactly the same life since fleeing Sydney in July.
OTHER NEWS:
"We flew out of Sydney with them, we stayed with them on Gold Coast at the Royal Pines, we've had a few flights in and out of Melbourne with them. It's been the same journey for us," Lloyd said.
But the congeniality between the teams will stop this weekend when they incredibly meet in their third finals match, despite the short history of the Giants.
Right now the Giants hold the edge in finals with two wins, but the Swans did win the last encounter, the late season clash on the Gold Coast, which was originally scheduled for Ballarat's Mars Stadium.
"Over that little period we were slow to get going in games and they jumped us that night," Lloyd said.
"We were able to rectify it that week and came home strong and had a good win in the end.
"Finals games are a lot different to home and away, we have to start well and bring the heat around the the footy, that's how they'll play as well.
"They've got us in finals in the past, they've had the wood over us in finals.
"We've got a lot of young players who are playing their first finals game, where in the past we've probably been the more experienced."
Lloyd said with a year left to run on his current contract, he hoped to sit down soon and speak to the club about extending his tenure, with the perfect scenario being a two-to-three year extension.
The high possession half-back also laughed when quizzed about fantasy football.
This season he has once again averaged just on 25 possessions a game in his damaging set-up role across half back.
"I don't pay much attention to it, but I do get some social media messages from time-to-time," he said.
Sydney Swans and GWS Giants meet in the elimination final on Saturday afternoon at UTAS Stadium in Launceston.
