Across their seven netball teams, six finished in the top two, with the B Grade, C Grade, C Reserve and the 17 and Under all finishing on top of the table.

Across the entire season, Kalkee netballers played 84 matches with the club recording just 11 losses in total.

Kalkee A Grade coach Jaymi O'Connor said she was over the moon with the club's performance across each of the grades.

"We had six of our seven teams finish in the top two which is a fantastic achievement," she said.

"We have very strong juniors, which is a very strong part of our club and we try to promote them as best as we can.

"A lot of our juniors have played in the senior grades and we have really tried to give our juniors that opportunity, so it has definitely been a big part of our focus for this year."

Unfortunately for the Kees, of their 11 netball losses for the season, the A Grade recorded eight of them as they finished eighth on the table.

Despite the tough season O'Connor said there were several players who stepped up throughout the year.

"Millie McRae and Katie Ruwoldt have been good inclusions throughout the year, so hopefully we can keep them all, because I think they can have a big impact next season."

O'Connor also said she was impressed with the improvement her side showed between their two matches against the mighty Laharum, which she hopes will guide the team forward.

"They are a very formidable team and very difficult to play against, but we definitely improved the second time we played them and we had a much closer contest," she said.

"This year we have learnt the importance of netball, not just about winning games, but the importance for our community.

"I think for all of the girls at our club it has been important see each other and spend time together and have that sense of community, Kalkee is fantastic for that."
