From September 10 to October 10, transfer stations in Nhill, Dimboola, Rainbow and Jeparit will be part of the free green waste month.
The initiative is aimed at encouraging residents to tidy their yards prior to warmer weather starting and the fire danger period commencing.
Hindmarsh mayor Ron Ismay said the spring weather provided a great opportunity to get out and clean the yard.
"It's a great opportunity to enjoy the spring weather whilst exercising at the same time and it gives residents a great opportunity to clean up their properties," he said.
The free green waste disposal will be available during normal transfer station operating hours, for more information visit https://www.hindmarsh.vic.gov.au/waste-and-recycling.
