According to AFL Wimmera-Mallee manager Jason Muldoon, the leagues were due to meet during the week.
However, those discussions were delayed until the Victorian Government's Sunday press conference, where Premier Daniel Andrews is expected to give a detailed roadmap for the state.

"Next week's a big week; we'll obviously wait and see what happens Sunday and that might give us an indicator," Muldoon said.
"It's looking positive. They're talking about reaching the 70% vaccination mark by Friday or Saturday.
"So if you look at that well there's certainly some positives, but we're not going to jump the gun."
Muldoon believes that September 25 is the earliest sporting action could return.
He lamented that if finals did return, "it's a pretty good assumption that we won't have crowds".
Some of the regional Victorian competitions to cancel their seasons in recent weeks include the Hampden, Bendigo, Mininera and Central Highlands leagues.
Under the finals roadmaps set out by the leagues, the WFNL reduced their series to a top-four, two-week process, which could eventually become just a top-two grand final if sport can't return until October 2.
If community sport hasn't returned by October 2, the season will be abandoned, and no winners declared.

The HDFNL, however, hasn't released a finals structure yet but has set its season conclusion date for October 3. Unlike the WFNL, the League voted against the possibility of playing just a top-two grand final.
"They didn't think that was a fair indication of the season, so that's why they voted against it," Muldoon said.
