Mr Marlow wanted to remind Wimmera residents that the Road Trauma Support Service provides free and confidential counselling for anyone who has experienced road trauma.
"It can be done over the telephone, it's free of charge and you can have as many sessions as you like," he said.
People do not need a referral or mental health care plan; they only need to call.
IN OTHER NEWS:
Mr Marlow said the main concern was that such a serious incident in a small and close community would cause shock for many people.
"It was two locals families," Mr Marlow said.
"It's so important for there to be services for Horsham because there will be a lot of people effected."
Mr Marlow said previous incidents might also trigger some people.
"If you find that your life is being affected by unusual reactions to this event or your normal way of feeling is affected, just give someone a call," he said.
"Other family members if they are concerned about a loved one can contact us as well."
Mr Marlow said it is essential to know there is no shame in experiencing difficulties after such a horrific event.
"It's normal to have reactions to abnormal events," he said.
For free and confidential counselling, contact 1300 367 797.
