Laharum's A Grade netball side is definitely one team that could argue that had the season been able to continue, they would have defended their 2019 title.

The Demons finished the year unbeaten from 12 games, with an average winning margin of just under 36 goals.

Laharum, alongside every other first-placed HDFNL side, will be acknowledged as the minor premiers, but no overall winners will be declared for 2021.

"We can't complain we had a good year, we hadn't lost a game," Laharum coach Erin Mellington said.

"It's good in that aspect, but the minor premiership is not quite the same as a grand final premiership.

"But we'll still claim it. We're still defending premiers from 2019."

Mellington admitted that it was "disappointing" to see the season end the way it did.

"All the year's hard work for it to be called off," she said.

"I suppose there's nothing we can do about it.

"We Can't really wait until the roadmap says we can play.

"It's just too far gone.

"I think we all half knew it was going to happen."

Despite not getting the chance to play for the ultimate prize, Mellington said there were "still plenty of positives to come out of the year".

"Caitlin and I spoke to the girls and just spoke about how great a year we've had," she said.

"Hopefully we can all stick together and try again next year and hopefully get a full season."
