Dean Rowbottom, 50, plead guilty to five counts of disqualified driving and two breaches of a family violence order during a hearing at the Horsham Magistrates' Court on on Wednesday, October 6.

He was fined $2400 plus $129.30 in court fees and banned from driving until May 2022.

In March 2020, Rowbottom was disqualified from driving for two years.

On September 20, 2020, Rowbottom was caught driving while disqualified because he needed to attend an appointment in Horsham and was unable to secure a lift.

He was subsequently caught multiple times between September and October 2020.

The defence counsel said Rowbottom was "doing the best he can to address the issues."

He continued that Rowbottom has been seeking support for anxiety and depression.

Magistrate Ronald Saines said he understood the struggle in regional areas when it comes to driving and needing services outside of smaller satellite towns.

However, the magistrate highlighted Rowbottoms "appalling driving record".

Rowbottom was fined $2000 for the charges relating to disqualified driving.

In a separate matter, Rowbottom was found to have breached an intervention order on two occasions.

On one occasion on January 22, 2021, Rowbottom confronted the victim in the street.

He plead guilty to those two charges of a breach and fined $400.

Mr Saines warned Rowbottom should be breach his conditions, there is a chance he will be jailed for future offences.
