Women's Health Grampians held its 2021 AGM on Wednesday, 24 November, during which it farewelled two serving board members and held an election for the vacancies.

Rachel Whittaker, outgoing Deputy Chairperson and resident of the Northern Grampians, served on the WHG Board from 2016. Shawna Dominelli from Ararat served as a Board member from 2019.
Both women have made invaluable contributions to the work of WHG and the broader community.
The community response to WHG's call for expressions of interest to join the Board was very strong, with applicants bringing a wide range of strengths and lived experience. In a close-run election WHG members welcomed Onella Cooray and Carly Myers to the Board.

Onella Cooray is a Horsham-based woman with extensive experience in STEM fields and community work. Currently working with Agriculture Research Victoria, Ms Cooray is also Treasurer of Horsham PAWS, has recently completed a term as Secretary for the Wimmera Pride Project, and acts as Events Chair for the Victorian Public Sector Pride Network.
Carly Myers, from Ballan, has a long history of advocacy-based work in the not-for-profit sector. She currently works with Women with Disabilities Victoria in Health Promotion Resource Development.
She has served on several Boards, including as President of the Genetic Support Network of Victoria, and as a member of the Women with Disabilities Reference Group for the Royal Women's Hospital and Genetic Services Advisory Committee, Department of Human Services.
"WHG is delighted to welcome these two strong, passionate women from our region onto the Board, and we look forward to their contribution in steering the strategic direction of the organisation over the coming years," outgoing Chair Amy Rhodes said.
AGM formal proceedings were followed by a keynote speech from Bonnie Chew, proud Wadawurrung woman and current Indigenous Independent Prison Visitor and Indigenous Heritage representative of Victoria on the Victorian Public Records Advisory Council, who spoke on the value of connection to country. The AGM ended on a musical note with moving performances from Ballarat musician Stella Savy and Wimmera pianist Unmani, who highlighted the key role creativity plays in our sense of wellbeing.
WHG CEO Marianne Hendron highlighted the great resilience of staff over the past year who have supported each other through challenging times and been even more productive than ever.
She said the wisdom shared by Guest Speaker Bonnie Chew around mindfulness and country resonated with everyone present and along with the musical performances was a strong reminder of how vital culture is in health and wellbeing.
