There are 299 people in hospital, another 43 in intensive care and 18 are on ventilators.
Six people also died of coronavirus on Tuesday.
There were 74,252 test results issued in Victoria on Tuesday.
On Tuesday, the Wimmera saw seven new COVID-19 cases, with two additional cases in Horsham bringing the city's total active cases to eight.
In NSW, the exposure sites linked to a case of the Omicron variant in a Central Coast woman include venues in Wyong, Toukley, Wadalba, Ryde and Parramatta on Friday and Saturday.
The woman is now isolating at home.
