The film didn't go unnoticed by the popular choice, with The Dry winning Favourite Film for the Audience Choice Awards.
Lead actor Eric Bana won Favourite Actor for the Audience Choice Award.
The Dry premiered in Horsham in December 2020 before it's national release on New Year's Day 2021.
The film featured the landscapes of the Wimmera including quite a few faces from the area with many of the movie filmed in the region in 2019.
During its world premier in Horsham in December 2020, Mr Bana said the Wimmera was like nowhere else.
"I think this region is something else at sunrise and sunset," he said.
He also said the community should pat itself on the back for the work that went into the film.
"I just really hope that the locals can embrace the film, and really feel proud of it," Mr Bana said.
