The festival has a new date of Saturday, April 23, and will tie in with the opening of the Dimboola Community Precinct - a space that will occupy the site of the old Dimboola Hotel.
Dimboola Town Committee member and Dimboola Imaginarium owner Chan Uoy said the initial cancellation of the event had come with a silver lining, as organisers were able to book a performance by Murtoa's French and Fabulous.
"I attended their one and only performance in Murtoa and it was thoroughly enjoyable, it was professionally put together," Mr Uoy said.

"They have decided to interlink their show with the Steampunk Festival and have the performance in the Star Theatre on Friday, April 22."
The bands set to perform at the original festival will remain on board and Mr Uoy said the festival's night market will still go ahead without any major changes.
The steampunk costume exhibition, originally set to feature in the O'Shannessy building, will now be hosted at Dimboola's Old Shire Hall.
"The venue of the clothing exhibition has changed because we are hoping the original venue will be trading as a retail space soon," Mr Uoy said.
"Again, we are forced to adapt and change to circumstances."
Mr Uoy said despite the disappointment of having to postpone the event, spirits remain high in the town.
"A lot of people were looking forward to it, so they are naturally disappointed. A lot of people were getting their costumes ready. A positive for it being postponed is that it has given people more time to get their outfits ready," Mr Uoy said.
"Also, on the day it was scheduled to happen it rained, so it worked out really well.
"Basically, a lot of people were really keen to come, there was some initial disappointment but I think people understand. It has given people more time to get creative with their outfits and for more people to become aware of it."
