The tall ruckman comes from East Burwood Football Netball Club in the Eastern Football League and will be a welcomed addition to the senior football team and boost their height around the ground. Stafford played junior football in and around the Warrnambool region and said he was looking forward to returning to a country football team.
He grew up in Mortlake and played for Woorndoo-Mortlake, Terang-Mortlake and Deakin University before heading across to North Warrnambool Eagles in the Hampden League.
Stafford trained with the Warriors for the first time on Monday and said he was impressed with the quality of the players within the group.

"There are a few quick players around," he said.
"From my small sample that I've had, it seems there are a few bigger bodies back at my old club but I was impressed with the speed of some of the players on the track tonight."
Stafford cemented himself at his former club and coached juniors, a committee member and a leader for the senior team.
Despite the strong ties, he said the connections to the region was growing stronger each year.
"I'm looking forward to the whole vibe of country football and netball," he said.
"When I went to Melbourne it was a football and netball league at the end but the netballers had to play on a Friday night.
MORE NEWS:
"It was a very different feel to having everyone playing at the same time and everyone together and at the same place.
"It's what I grew up with so found it strange when I moved back to Melbourne and as I get older realise how much I miss it."
Stafford will be a key ruckman for the Warriors who have struggled to secure a long-term ruckman to work alongside Shane Field.
"I've played a bit of centre-half-back as well," he said. "My role in the past has been a defensive-ruckman."
Stawell Warriors' supporters can cast their eyes forward to the first round of the Wimmera Football Netball League when Stawell take on Ararat in the annual Good Friday clash on April 15.
