Michael and Sharon Williams have moved to the Little Desert Nature Lodge from Melbourne after travelling to the region every fortnight for more than four years.
Mrs Williams said the couple often visited the area for research and nature photography and had fallen in love with the Little Desert National Park.
"When the role came up for caretakers we applied because we had fallen in love with the place," Mrs Williams said.
"We needed a change from the city, this is my first move to the country. I think there will be a lot of satisfaction seeing the changes happening. It is exciting and also a lot of satisfaction from the lifestyle.
"We are also excited about promoting the area for what it should be promoted as, amazing."
Mrs Williams said the caretaker role involved welcoming guests, looking after the animals and the park, and other general duties.
"It is a really good team out here so we all work together," she said.
"It is going to be exciting to educate students, showing them what is actually here, the diversity.
"For Michael, having opportunities to do more photography is something he is looking forward to as well.''
Little Desert Nature Lodge manager Mark Fletcher said Mr and Mrs Williams would bring energy and experience to the lodge.
"I am looking forward to working with them, especially with the animal experience they bring and their passion for the region," he said.
"I would like to thank Wayne and Julie Richards for their year of service in the role as caretakers."
