Charges against a South Coast Police officer over alleged misconduct offences have been heard in Nowra Local Court. Carl Robert Trevenar, 51, a senior constable attached to Nowra Police Station in the Southern Region, did not appear in court to answer the charges of larceny, dealing with property proceeds of crime and misconduct as a public office holder. Mr Trevenar did not appear before Registrar Nicole Brooks on Monday, September 14.but a letter from Kenneth Madden of Sydney legal firm Walter, Madden and Jenkins indicated he would enter pleas at his next appearance. It is alleged between 7am and 5pm on September 9, 2014, in Nowra, Trevenar took 25 litres of Monsta Bud Fertiliser valued at $230. It was also alleged between November 1, 2019 and January 21, 2020 at Falls Creek he had a seven-metre fully enclosed unregistered trailer, with reasonable grounds to suspect the item was the proceeds of crime. It was further alleged between November 18, 2013 and January 22, 2020 at Nowra he undertook unauthorised access of the NSW Police Computer System to check if the trailer was registered or unregistered. An investigation into the alleged larceny and misconduct started in June 2018, with Trevenar issued with a Future Court Attendance Notice on July 31. He has been suspended with pay and his matter will next appear in court on November 3. Read more: Crime/Court
