HORSHAM Saints stormed home in the 15 and under A Grade netball grand final to win against Horsham, 32-28.
The game was a tight encounter for most of the match, with Horsham leading at quarter-time by three goals, but the Saints taking the half-time lead, 15-14.
Horsham lifted during the third term and they shot to the front after a strong period of play.
However the Saints continued to pull together and they didn’t give Horsham any easy passes in the last term.
This saw them take possession after possession as they sent the ball into attack.
Their shooters were able to string together four straight goals and with only minutes remaining they held a 4-goal lead.
This included the goal attack Maggie Carris who also won the best on court award.
The Demons tried hard to work the ball forward but every time they seemed to run into a stiff Saints’ defence which repelled them.
The height in attack for the Saints really paid-off as they were able to dominant the offensive rebounds in the last quarter.
By the final siren Horsham couldn’t find an answer to the Saints’ tough defence.
